Kinect Set World Record for Fastest Selling Device

Guinness World Records announced that the Kinect now holds the World Record for Fastest Selling' Device since it sold 8 million units the first 60 days.

Later that day Microsoft released a press release that stated that they have now reached 10 000 000 unit sales of the Kinect so far.

Hopefully with all these sales many developers out there will start producing some games for core gamers and not just for people who play casually.  Recently I look at my Kinect more as an ornament on my TV, like a pair of old rabbit ears than an actual gaming device.  The Playstation Move has had many more interesting games, probably because the technology is more similar to the Wii and developers were comfortable making games compatible with  it.

We will see how this month stacks up for sales.  March is a historically slow period for game sales.

Michael Phelps Push the Limit Due in June

The Kinect version of Michael Phelps: Push the Limits has been officially announced in a press conference.

I am not sure how great this game can be.  It looks like a basic swimming race game.  Unless they kept the best parts out of the trailer and they have some fun mini games and training,  I can't imagine this will be a very popular title.

The trailer and more information can be found on the official 505 games website for Michael Phelps Push the Limit.  It's set to be released in June of this year for the Xbox 360 Kinect.

Balmer Announces Kinect Avatar and New Features at CES 2011
